2009 NZIFST/CREST Student Product Development Challenge
The food industry needs more bright young scientists and technologists.
To encourage and introduce secondary students to the exciting options of careers in food science, the New Zealand Institute of Food Science Technology, Futureintech, CREST, and the Institute of Food, Nutrition and Human Health (Massey University) initiated the Student Product Development Challenge in Auckland.
Team Silver CREST was used as the frame work for the student’s investigations. Concurrent to the work undertaken by the students, Institute of Food, Nutrition and Human Health provided professional development for the teachers supervising or involved with the teams.
The winners were announced on 21 October 2009, are the DelicAsia team from Westlake Girls High School.
